World of Warcraft Virtual Item Bringing in Millions | ENCROYABLE

Blizzard yesterday released two virtual items for World of Warcraft in their online store – a vanity pet called Lil’ XT which, we are informed an expert in the field (a girl), is “cute”, and the first functional item to be sold in the store, the Celestial Mount.

This in-game mount, which is made of stars is assumed to be the item that has backed up Blizzard’s download servers. Reports from WoW.com bring the number of queued customers as high as 80,000, with some claims as high as 140,000. These queues are, however, for all of Blizzard’s downloadable products, including the previous four vanity pets, and the games themselves. Of course, that doesn’t diminish the fact that, minimum, there was almost a million bucks-worth of customers queued for many hours at a time.

The Celestial Steed is capable of matching the speed of your riding skill (meaning as soon as you get training, your steed will be able to fly), and is account-wide, so players with multiple characters will get the steed too, as will newly created characters on the same account. This means that for $25 (the cost of the mount on Blizzard’s store), a player will save thousands upon thousands of in-game gold on the purchase of mounts across all characters. Also, it looks damn spiffy. Taking into consideration the usefulness and spiffyness of the Celestial Steed, it’s probably a safe bet that this was the major moneymaker here, which means that Blizzard is likely raking in far more than one or two million over the course of a day. itwork.com estimates an income of approximately 2.5 million an hour. And there were complaints about the $15 Modern Warfare 2 map pack!

There is some concern amongst the community about functional items now being sold, as it is a slippery-slope to cash-for-gear, or even cash-for-gold, which most players agree would “blow (celestial) goats”. Hopefully Blizzard will exercise some discretion.

When reached for comment about just how well the steed was selling, a representative for Blizzard simply said “We don’t provide any sales figures for the Celestial Steed or Lil’ XT.”

Glossary Blog » World Of Warcraft – The Game With A Non-standard Plot

Nowadays, people do their best to make use of the Internet. They use every possible opportunity to make money and computer games are great for this. Today, the number of computer games is constantly growing. It is difficult to estimate the daily computer game increase, because numerous companies all over the world work on creation of new games, which can bring them considerable profit. The process of development of computer games began in the early 1990’s, when the first large scale computer game came into being. Computer technologies and Internet began to develop rapidly after that game and that was how thousands of role-playing games saw the world and gained the popularity among game players from all over the world. However, Warcraft remained the most loved game, because it had been the first one to present the genre of role-playing games to people all over the world. The popularity of this amazing game had remained strong for ten years unless the first MMORPG in the world was released. The game was called World of Warcraft and was presented by the same authors, which released Warcraft series.

World of Warcraft is a game, which can be interesting for both adults and teenagers. The secret of the game is an inimitable plot, which is much greater and more interesting than plots of all MMORPGs, presented in the gaming market today. The game is designed the way to keep players in it as long as possible. You can feel a bit bored when you start playing, because the first 20 levels are a kind of a warming-up. These 20 levels are to be used to get to know more about the game, to find the best gaming strategies and techniques. This period can be a challenging one, especially for those players, who prefer the standard gaming pattern, when the development of action in the game takes place in the very beginning. Absolute majority of modern MMORPGs are designed according to this pattern and it makes World of Warcraft a truly unique game. If you want to become one of the best players in the World of Warcraft, you have to put up with the way is works. You will never succeed, if assiduity and purposefulness are not your merits. You have to be very attentive and persistent, if you want to know, what World of Warcraft is like. After you pass the 20 levels of the game, you will see the real world of this game with all its beautiful sceneries and characters. New skills and areas will be available for you and you will not have to do the same quest several times just to level up your character. You will get acquainted with all advantages of the game and will never regret having chosen it.

Funcom has announced that a retail release containing both Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures and the expansion Rise of the Godslayer is to be published by Deep Silver.

Rise of the Godslayer, the first expansion to Conan, introduces the player to the lands of Khitai with several new world regions filled with dungeons, quests, and rewards.

It also introduces new gameplay features, such as an alternate advancement system, factions, and the new tiger and wolf mounts/combat pets that you raise from cubs.

Players will also get access to a starter’s package containing several in-game items that will help them along in their dangerous, sexy adventures through Hyboria.
