New retail version of Age of Conan to include upcoming expansion pack

In 2008, Funcom used Eidos as its distributor for the retail version of Age of Conan. Now with the upcoming release of their expansion pack, Rise of the Godslayer, Funcom will release a new retail version of their fantasy MMO that combines both the original game and the expansion pack.

The new retail release will be distributed this time by CompuExpert in North America and will include some exclusive in-game items that will assist new players in their adventures. CompuExpert had previously distributed the WWII flight sim Wings of Prey to stores in the US. While Rise of the Godslayer is expected to be released sometime this year there’s no specific date that has been announced.

StarCraft 2: Terran Strategies for noobs (and you too) | RPG …

Terran is a natural first choice for new players to the game due to their ease of understanding and their “human-relations.” It’s probably why most people choose alliance over horde in World of Warcraft. However, we’ve heard that Terrans are losing more games than Protoss or Zerg. This may be because so many inexperienced players use Humans. This article is made to help you get-in-the-game and give you some strong, Terran strategies to use, or strategies your opponent might be using early game.

Considered the more moderate and safe of the strategies is the combination of Marines and Marauders. M&Ms are so sweet – they can stand up to just about any early game strategy. Considering this, it is important to attack early enough to not allow your enemy to tech-up to Banshees (especially with Cloak), Colossi, Dark Templar, or too many Tanks with Siege ability because they can all tear you to pieces!

Even this group of surrounded M&Ms can take on a force of Protoss and Zerg!

To build up a sizable force of M&M fairly quickly you need a few barracks with attached Reactors and Tech Labs. Of course, some gas is vital to give you access to Reactors. But having just Marines isn’t enough, and the sooner you can start building Marauders the better, and you’ll need a steady stream of gas for those units.

WoW News Snippet: Re: Blizzard Store » RPG-Exploiters

Celestial Mount, courtesy of WoW.com

More and more, it seems like Blizzard is making WoW into a micro transaction store.  I just read that they now added a Celestial mount, and some weird robot critter companion.

I want to mention that when I looked at the source code of the page, that the celestial mount, shows a limited run of 100, whereas 12 have been sold and only 88 of them are left for sale.  This will make this an extremely rare mount for WoW US players.  I find more interesting that there is a limit to 10 purchases at a time.  Makes me wonder if an enterprising individual will go out there and snatch some up, for sale use later.

You can check out the flying mount over at the Blizzard Store.

Choose the MMO for you

There are hundreds of MMO is out there, but only few of them are actually playing trouble! Let’s face the facts, MMOs like World of Warcraft (WoW), Age of Conan (AoC) EverQuest II (EQ2) and Aion: Tower of Eternity all cost just a penny, and nobody has that much free time on their hands. Ultimately you have to take a decision, which is that you pay to play? In this article we will see some of the higher profile major MMO on the market and offer our thoughts on the matter.

World of Warcraft

What’s this?: World of Warcraft, WoW, or as it came to be called by that play, it is probably the most consistently polished and well defined MMO on the market. Published by Blizzard in 2004, it quickly supplanted the original EverQuest that the MMO of choice for most, eventually becoming something of a household name. It is played by the hardcore and casual, for schoolchildren, forties, soccer moms and even in families as a sort of bonding exercise.
